Feeling Crafty?

I love spending time outdoors, but as the weather gets colder, I tend to stay inside more often. Rather than turning into a couch potato, I like to get creative with lots of crafts and fun activities. Sometimes I'll help my mom with her scrapbooks or make cool stuff like jewelry and origami. A cold fall day is even a perfect time to try something new. Maybe you've always wanted to try making bread from scratch or learn how to tie-dye. The Web is a great resource for finding new hobbies. For fun art ideas, you can visit www.avalon-arts.com/studio/ideas.html. You can also use search engines to look for information about a new activity.

Another fun way to use the Web is to make your crafts digital and share them with friends and family. A cool program called Smilebox can be downloaded for free at www.smilebox.com. Ask a parent or guardian for permission to download and register, and you'll be on your way to making cool scrapbooks, greeting cards and more. When you're done you can print, e-mail or blog your new creation. Have fun!
