Dear Amy: I'd like to know if there are any Web sites where you can chat
with people from all around the world. Alyson, Fremont, CA
Dear Alyson: It's awesome to meet people from other countries over the Internet,
and there are lots of ways to do it. My mom says my little brother is too young
to join a chat group, but it was OK for me if I posted the "Rules for Online
Safety" on the wall next to the computer. I downloaded them from Yahooligans
at http:// www. yahooligans.com/
docs/ safety/ Your folks probably want to check out any place where kids
are asked to register before you become key pals with other kids. Take them
to http:// http://www.kidscom.com/home_flash.html
and see what they think. Another place where young people can learn more about
important world issues is the Voices of Youth Web site sponsored by Unicef

Dear Amy: I am having trouble finding good sites for kids my age. I am
particularly interested in basketball, soccer and Star Trek. David, Cumberland,
RI
Dear David: There are a ton of Web sites for all your topics. For basketball
and soccer you can go to http:// webcrawler.com/ select/ sports.new.html
Also, I found a page at http:// www.crc.ricoh.com/ ~marcush/ startrek.html
for all kinds of links to Star Trek information. (These Web sites are
no longer available. Some good search engines for kids are www.yahooligans.com,
www.ajkids.com, and www.kidsclick.org)
