Dear James: Math can be tricky at times, but fortunately there are several ways you can improve your grade. Homework is designed to help you master concepts so you will be ready for the next quiz or test. If you are having trouble understanding your textbook or how problems are explained in class, Khan Academy, khanacademy.org, is a good place to start. With a parent’s permission, you can sign up and access videos that explain any math concept you are working on, step-by-step.

B.J. Pinchbeck’s Homework Helper, bjpinchbeck.com, is another terrific resource for help in all subjects. B.J. began the site with his dad more than 20 years ago, when he was in fourth grade. The site has grown to include hundreds of links to the best homework help on the Web. You’re sure to find what best fits your learning style here.
