Brrrraving the Cold

I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of the bitter cold winter months. Frigid temperatures, biting winds, chapped lips, colds and icy streets are just not my cup of tea. I do enjoy the snowfall, however, and will bundle up to play outside with my dog.

Sometimes, I find it really hard to get out of my warm bed and dress for school knowing that as soon as I open the door the winter air will greet me. Humans just aren’t meant to endure this type of weather for an extended period of time. I often wish I could be like a bear and hibernate until March. Wild animals don't have to go to school, but they don't have the luxury of warming up inside either.

Many animals hibernate in the winter. Some migrate to a warmer climate in the fall, and others just adapt to the freezing temperatures. Insects even have to plan ahead for the winter.
